Jason was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He served with distinction in the United States Air Force from 1990 to 1995. He graduated in 1998 from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor of Arts in History. In 2002, he obtained his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law. At South Texas College of Law, he was an Assistant Articles Editor for South Texas Law Review, a staff writer for the student Newspaper, Annotations, and a member of Phi Delta Phi. Jason also served as a Judicial Intern for the First Court of Appeals. In 2003, he was admitted to practice in all courts in Texas and, prior to joining the firm, Jason worked for the law firm of Coats Rose. His areas of practice include general litigation, including complex commercial litigation, business litigation, insurance coverage litigation, bad faith/extra-contractual litigation, and employment litigation. In addition, Jason has handled appeals before the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims and the Texas state appellate courts.
