The firm believes that the privilege of being a part of this great profession calls on us to give back to the community. Our attorneys are involved in a variety of bar association and community activities. Some of these include:
Ed Junell served as a Director of the Houston Bar Association for 9 years. Dick Schwartz is now on the Board of the Houston Lawyer Referral Service. The firm regularly participates and supports the HBA coat drive, book drive, and Night Court, Harvest Party.
Both Dick and Roger Greenberg are past Presidents of the Federal Bar Association for the Southern District. Roger is still on that Board.
Dick is on the Board of the Garland Walker Inn of Court and has been involved with that Inn since 1987. He was the Executive Director for about 10 years.
Dick also served on the State Bar of Texas District 4A Grievance Committee. He was the Chair for 4 years.
Pro Bono work is part of our culture. We participate in the Houston Volunteer Lawyer Program and have committed to take pro bono cases assigned by the HBA. Additionally, we have handled a number of criminal appeals arising out of appointments from the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Monica Oathout is currently president of the International Alliance of Law Firms. She also serves on the Advisory Board for Girls, Inc/Houston. She is also a member of National Charity League, a mother-daughter service organization.
Phil Bechter and Parker Fauntleroy both actively coach Little League baseball. Phil is on the Board of Directors for Bellaire Little League. Dick and Ed both coached their children in various sports over the years.
Steve Rech is the past President of Center for Hearing and Speech and is still actively involved in that organization.
David Finck serves as counsel for Chapelwood School for Children and served on their Board of Directors for several years.
Joe Reynolds is a regular Sunday school teacher at Second Baptist Church.
Other members of the firm are active in their churches and other civic organizations.
